From Città della Pieve to Perugia and Assisi,
and on to the small towns of Spello, Bevagna
and Montecastello di Vibio

In order to get to know another part of Umbria, we head towards Città della Pieve in the heart of the Trasimeno region where we can stay at the Hotel Logge del Perugino. In spite of the advance of progress, this area can still boast complete environmental harmony, alternating gentle rolling hills with dense woods filled with oak, poplar and olive trees and great expanses of water like Lake Trasimeno, the largest lake in central Italy. Unspoilt natural surroundings where man has fitted in perfectly without upsetting the balance over the years, building residences, castles and abbeys of unrivalled beauty and inestimable historic value. This harmony was most expertly depicted with this area’s greatest artist, the painter Pietro Vannucci, known as “Il Perugino”.
